CLEAN STREAMS

For the the last 2 weeks we have been studying about clean streams. We're learning about microinvertebrates. On the first week we went to the Maitai River with sieves and ice cream containers. We had to play a game. You had to catch all of them on the sheet. Alex and I caught all of them on the list. At the end of all of it we had to let them go. What I have learned about microinvertebrates is that some hate living in dirty water and some hate living in clean. What's up with that?

Childrens Rights

Every child should have the same rights but every child doesn’t get them. I think every child should get the same rights. We need to help these poor people. Some of these poor people don’t have enough clean water like we do at Nelson Central School.

We have been learning about the children of Kroo Bay. Kroo Bay is a slum community in Africa. In Kroo Bay one child out of four dies before they are five. They have a clinic but they don’t have enough medicine for everyone.

People in Kroo Bay have unhealthy shelters. When it floods their house will flood too. They will have to move out. They have holes in their houses as well because they are made of old bits of wood.

Save the Children helps poor children in countries all around the world. I would like you to tell your friends and family and please buy something from the wish list to help children’s rights become a reality.

In the holidays Eli my brother and I went to Dunedin on two planes to see my mum. When we got there Eli, my mum and I went to the Warehouse to buy Ben 10 figures. We also bought a game called Frogs in the Bog and I got a Ben 10 drink and an ice-cream. I hope I go there again.
